Retreat Gathering

Session 1 - Where are we going?

We all have a vision for life. Does it align with Jesus’ vision? How can we refine our vision to match His?

Session 2 - Where are we at?

Before we can chart a new course, we need to understand where we are at today and how we got here. We’ll take a look at the Gospel, church history, and how things have changed over time.

Session 3 - How are we going to get there?

Change (becoming more like Christ) is more than wishful thinking – it requires effort. We’ll talk about common barriers that keep us from growing and practical tools for cultivating Christlikeness both as individuals and as a community.

Session 4 - What’s our plan?

During the last session, we will design some spiritual growth experiments and come up with a specific plan for implementing them. These experiments are for ourselves and for the people in our spheres of influence.

Days 1 to 7 - Growth requires effort

What are you learning about God as you implement your experiments from Session 4? What are you learning about humanity?

Days 8 to 14 - Be attentive to God’s daily presence

As you practice the Daily Examen, you will start noticing where God is at work and see His blessings all around you.

Days 15 to 21 - Jesus’ life is our model

This week, you will gain a deeper understanding of God’s heart and character by reading big chunks of scripture in one sitting.

Days 22 to 28 - An ongoing rule of life

Your rule of life is a written statement about how you want to live. It will keep you on track as you grow.

Days 29 to 35 - Loving God’s image bearers

Jesus calls us to practice hospitality with people we like and with people we don’t. Everyone we encounter is loved by God and made in His image.
