LET CREATION SPEAK TO YOU

Why Engage It?

We are intricately linked to Creation and the earth. We rely on the sun, soil, rain, and seasons to provide for us and our survival. Creation can also teach us about the character of God, about relationship with our Creator, about provision and sustaining life.

Jesus says in Matthew 6, “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

How to Practice It

Take some time and sit outside. Notice the birds and their songs, notice their actions, where they land, how they feed off the trees and the ground. Reflect on how God provides for them through nature; consider the words of Jesus that you are more valuable to God than the beautiful birds you are watching. Recount the ways God has provided for you in the past and the present, in small and big ways. Let your soul rest in the truth that God will continue to be faithful in providing and sustaining your needs.
